"Hear me, protect me, prepare me, support me and care for me." This is the message health care professionals dealing with the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic are constantly delivering to their organizations, according to a viewpoint article published in JAMA.
No amount of protection gear that they are provided with for their physical protection, can help prevent the mental scarring. Seeing multiple deaths in a day, having to make life-saving decisions for critical cases at a moment's notice, death of a fellow co-worker,and more than all of this, not meeting family members or fear of infecting them has been constantly disturbing the minds of several healthcare workers.
What We Do
There are countless resources about mental health, both in the general population and in healthcare. We compiled a few of our favourites, a list we’ll continue building over time.
We have tried our best to divide them according to various needs, which might help you and all the other healthcare workers find the resource appropriate for them, at the ease of their fingertips.
We hope these resources will help you with your worries and fears at the moment. We urge you to continue exploring this topic and take care of yourself (prioritise selfcare!) before everyone else! And we encourage you to share what you learn with us and the others.
For a lot of people, music is a lifeline. It is something that keeps them going. And I believe without it, many of us would be lost entirely. This is one of the reasons that music therapy was developed. It is an amazing way to learn how to more about your feelings and fight mental illness.
Check Out The Blogs
We are a bunch of undergrad students who have come together to help all the healthcare professionals deal better with their mental health. These healthcare workers never really care much or get enough time for their own mental health.
With this pandemic, our healthcare workers are overburdened and overworked. Dealing with the patients and treating them to the best of their abilities, has left them with very little time for themselves.
Our aim is to assist them with all the resources they need for their betterment at one place. We are trying our best to include as much as we can so that everyone finds something for themselves.
Psstt... Slow down a bit
Take a moment to wind down
